Upper Canada Village YLC Trip

Return in time to 1860s and join the Young Leaders’ Club in their historical, educational & fun trip to Upper Canada Village. Enjoy the wagon ride while discovering the past from traditional farming technique to growing of heritage vegetables & raising heritage livestock breeds to demonstration of handiwork, dressmaking and much more….

Aspects of late 19th-century social life, music, religion and politics are discussed and demonstrated by knowledgeable staff dressed in clothing of the period.

Learn about the past while enjoying the wagon ride, the interactive workshops, Medieval shows, BBQ lunch at the beach and finally revive your spirit and increase your knowledge with Imam Ahmad Khadra.

Parents Volunteering:

Parents volunteering are based on first come first serve. Every Parent will be responsible of 5 children and will receive free ticket to the trip.

Who: All children from 7-12 are welcome
When: Sunday, June 8
Time: 8:00 am- 8:00 pm
Price: $30/ YLC member- $35/non-member

Trip Schedule:

07:30am – 08:00am Gathering at the Islamic Centre of Kingston for
pre-trip talk (the bus will leave at 8:00 am sharp)
08:00am – 10:00am arrive to Upper Canada Village
10:00am – 03:00pm Upper Canada Village tour, wagon ride, Medieval
festival shows, etc.
03:00pm – 04:00pm BBQ and social time at the Long Salt Parkway beach
(Lunch will consist of beef/chicken burge
r or hotdog,
potato chips & a drink)
04:00pm – 05:00pm leaving the long Salt Parkway beach heading to
Brockville Masjed
05:00pm – 05:30pm Duhr and Asr Prayer
05:30pm – 07:00pm Lecture by Imam Ahmad Khadra (Imam of Brockville
Islamic Center)

07:00pm – 08:00pm Arrive to Kingston (Islamic Centre of Kingston)

Important Information:

– The bus will leave Kingston at 8:00 am sharp. Unfortunately, no refund in case of missing the bus.
– Snacks and sweets will be provided on the bus; however, parents are welcome to send snacks with their kids.
– All parents will be given the instructors contact numbers in-case parents want to check on the child.
