Walking Group

Assalam Alykum Dear Ladies, 

SPRING IS HERE FINALLY !!! Let’s take this opportunity to bring the Walking Group back to our routine againenjoy the fresh air while doing this great physical activity and built sisterhood.

Why Group Walking?

  • Easy, inexpensive and convenient.  Keeps you at a healthy weight.
  • Great for your health; strengthens your heart, bones and friendships!
  • Increases energy levels and improves posture.

After two to three weeks, regular walking will:

  • Increase your energy.
  • Relieve stress and tension.
  • Help you sleep better.

 

Over the long term, regular walking will:

  • Make you feel good about yourself.
  • Help you achieve and maintain a healthy weight when combined with healthy eating.
  • Reduce the risk of heart disease, stroke, adult onset diabetes, osteoporosis, depression, high blood pressure, obesity, fall and injuries and certain cancers.
  • Strengthen bones and muscles.

Walking group Rules:

  • Dress comfortably.
  • Wear proper shoes (running shoes)
  • Bring water bottle and keep hydrated.
  • Don’t come alone!! Bring a friend or a neighbour to walk with you.

 

Let’s All meet at the K&P Trail head located off Sydenham Rd, every Tuesday and Thursday starting next week Apr 23 and 25 at 5:40 for a progressive walk, stretches and some silly competitions & prizes.

Some resources will be hand out on the first day of the walk such as Pedometers, tracking sheets, trail maps..etc.
