Jumu'ah Announcements for August 18 / Dhul Qa'dah 25

1. We all recognize ICK extension project needs a collective determination from the entire Kingston Muslim Community to raise funds for its implementation. The ISK urges all of you to participate and show your complete support and enthusiasm for this project.

The extension project, budgeted at $2,000,000 is currently in progress and requires your financial support and donations. As of June 30th, 2017 (with your generous donations and support) we have been fortunate to raise $504,053 towards the extension project.

Today, we appeal every member attending Friday Prayer to donate $10/each towards the Extension before leaving the mosque. We also need a volunteer (a Brother or a sister) to match the funds raised.

Every dollar you donate will contribute to a larger space that will house a variety of spiritual, educational, and recreational activities for our community.

May Allah SWT guide and help us all to serve Islam the best possible way.

2. Volunteers from Canadian Blood services are here today to sign up potential Blood donors for the Kingston clinic. Every 60 seconds someone needs blood. 96% of Canadians rely on a very small group of people to maintain a stable supply of blood for the country. Only 50% of Canadians are potentially eligible, yet less than 4% of eligible donors donate blood each year. At present, we are experiencing a dip in blood collections resulting in a very low inventory on some blood groups. So please consider becoming a regular donor Insha Allah and sign up Insha Allah.

3. The registration for the ISK evening and Weekend school is now open online. There have been some updates to the Welcome package so please be sure to read through it before classes begin. The link for registration and package are on the school website.

4. On Friday August 25 at 7 pm Imam Ryan will be giving a talk on "Faith and Sacrifice: Lessons from the Hajj" Insha Allah.

5. If you wish to do Dhabiha locally for Eid this year please contact Br. Salahuddin. One share is estimated at $275-300 this year for one lamb or 1/7 of a cow.

6. Al-Bayan Qur'an program for children and youth is continuing next week and ending on August 24 Insha Allah. It is held Tuesday to Thursday from 2-4 pm. The fee is $5/day.
